2017 CDTSA 3-Gun Schedule

HOLY CRAP DOES IT GET HOT OUT THERE

Forecast is calling for some light sprinkles and cloud. That would honestly be nice. Full sun can drain you and be dangerous. Just in case the forecast is wrong though remember to bring lots of water, sunscreen, bug spray and maybe even some golf umbrella's cause when you are out there, there is no shelter from the sun or the rain when you are on a stage. (Except for range one)

No sponsorship needed. If you can make it to help setup PM TheJeff and let him know. I believe we are starting setup at noon on Saturday and camping at the range that night. Guests are welcome for sure for both the match and heavy lifting.

Ah perfect! Didn't see this reply, but Jeff let me know via PM. Will plan to be there around noon on Saturday.

I know this has been a topic of discussion on this forum, but I case anyone is curious...

For sh!ts n giggles I called the Alberta CFO's office to find out their opinion on overnight stays (ie: camping) with restricted. The lady I talked to said there was no issue with camping at the range...no need to secure your restricted in a locker or similar at the range. This info is contrary to what other CFO offices have said. Search the legalise sub-section for "camping" if you want to read those threads.

I understand that the verbal word from the CFO's office is essentially meaningless and not binding, but I still think it's good information on their "opinion".

In my experience, water is not enough. Also bring some 'salty' snack like pretzels or chips to keep your electrolyte balance.

You are correct, you need water and some salt.
For me it is both, I am pasty white and burnt in a short period of time with 3 coats of sun block :D

Last year we had Cabelas donate flats of water and pretzels.... we dont have that worked out this year.

Fenceline you're in for sure??

Great shoot! Thanks to all the guys that came up with the course of fire, helped setup and tear down. Met a pile of new people and hope to see you all at the next one!!

Like to give props to the members of the CDTSA and any volunteers who put on and set up this match. It was a lot of fun shooting the match - had a really fun squad and turned out to be a great day for 3gun! Unfortunately I forgot to turn on my gopro on my best stage - the "battle cry and bayonet the bad guy" stage. It was my first time shooting at the Milo range and won't be my last! Thanks again!

It was a great time... Props to the team that organized it and designed the course of fire.

"Show us your war face" was my favourite (and I think a lot of other people's favourite), but every stage was great.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to spend some quality time with some ibuprofen and an ice pack... Which, really, is the mark of a great 3-gun event.
