Five jakes and half a dozen hens in to the decoys at 20 yards... watched them strut and gobble for 20 minutes... let them walk, looking for bigger birds... it's raining pretty hard right now... heading into a large tract of bush to do some cat n' mouse.

Good luck. I'm stuck at work and won't get out until the weekend...:/

I'm not out for the turkey opener today. I have to work. My friend and I are concentrating on baiting for bears. We will go bear hunting in 2 weeks. After that we will go try our luck with turkeys. Good luck to everyone today!

I hunted a new area to me this morning. The property owner says there are birds there. Didn't see any today, but to rub things in, I had to stop on the road home to let four cross in front of me. I'm sure the third one was giving me the finger.

Opening day and I dusted a nice Tom. Double beard on this guy, he and his friend came into my set up after I spoted them and they walked away, set up the hen decoy and hid prone 10 yards away. Called them back by chatting with some other generous hen while these guys gobbled and strutted there stuff right on in.

Great way to start the season lets fill tag 2! Good luck and nice birds so far guys.

Played with two gobblers for a couple hours this afternoon, but couldn't quite get them in position for a reasonable shot... moved locations and called in two jakes to a grassy road along a creek... they came in strutting and gobbling... then they walked in a semi circle around me through the open hardwoods... they were so beautiful, I couldn't help myself... lol. Contributing to my lack of reserve is that I have two tags and only two days to fill them!

Nice looking bird Hoyt... now time for some truth, is that Citori stock covering any missing tail feathers?

Well done Ranger!

Congrats to all who got a bird this morning.....

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get out until the weekend of May 6th, if at all.....

I do have the pleasure of driving to Ohio for work, which is why I can't go, so if I see one crossing the road it may get the brunt of my frustration....

Ar ar ar... shouldn't have given away my secrets...

No, I suppose not. Still Nice work on the bird. Hopefully you can be successful tomorrow too.

I won't be able to get out until the weekend. I hope the weather is good for turkey hunting. I'm low on wet weather guns... :p
