Anyone else planning on joining the Rifleman's Team Challenge (http://www.riflemansteamchallenge.com) this year? Looks like really fun, challenging, 2 day 2 man matches. A few of us from BC are going to be doing them. The first match of the season (for the North West division) will be down at Rattlesnake Mountain on Feb 18-19. For those who shoot .308 there is a strict "Limited Division" that is exclusively .308 175gr at/below 2750fps and .223 77gr as well with more or less parity at the prize table, if I recall correctly. Should take the arms race outta limited for sure. Most of the COF is up to the individual match directors but there will always be an element of hiking as well as time limits between stages and often a pdw/pistol/carbine component as well.

Hard to say with no matches announced on this side of the continent yet. Region I is the only one with matches listed. Northwest is definitely a hot bed for this stuff.

I am very interested in this... wow, the sport is moving at lightning speeds and sure looks like fun. I really like the attempts to keep gaming and pre planning out of the equation. WOW, DQ for chatting about stage and strategies... interesting.

The Tactical class just looks like the right place to spend alot of time... the sport is expensive enough without keeping up with the latest greatest super zapper. Bullet weight and velocity cap will really limit the amount of "hero" loading that is commonly done now.

Really happy that so much is happening so close to where I live.

Time to finish a rig or two and go have some fun.

They are really trying to push blind (concealed) stages where the shooters can't see the stages before shooting them. Telling others about the stage would be cheating. How can you tell if they are talking about a concealed stage or one that is not concealed? Someone who is cheating will obviously claim they are talking about a non-concealed stage if they are caught. So don't allow them to discuss any stages.

Damn, that's kinda retarded. Gives you an excuse to get a custom rig built down there, I guess. Whatcha thinking of getting? I mean the sky is kinda the limit. I'd probably go LRI or Bros if I wanted to keep it local...

USA residency = no form6nia only permanent import. I can't bring my DT to USA without a FFL. Only way I can shoot matches is with an American rifle.

I'm new to border hopping with firearms, but I would like to compete down south next year. Could you elaborate on why you cannot compete with your rifle?

Budget build is the plan, Remington 700 sps lefty in 308 in a greyboe renegade stock with ptg bottom metal. Harris bipod with hawkhill feet and 5 flush cups (4 either corner and one underneath). Not entirely sure on optic but I'm leaning towards a 4-16 tango4 by sig.

You won't have any issues as long as you live in canada only. I have Washington as my primary residence, so I'm an American and have to follow us laws regarding imports. Your a Canadian visitor all you need is a form6nia.

Event looks awesome.

Question, looks like we need an AR15 and a pistol. I know the import form in order to get my bolt action rifle across the boarder, but what do I need in order to get an AR15 and pistol across the boarder?

Thanks for clearing that up.

It depends on your residency and what type of visa you're on. I lived in the US for four years under a TN Visa and had my firearms there under Form6NIAs. Plus I was able to buy firearms there since I was a legal resident. So I had a mix of US and Canadian guns.

Very interesting development and I am sure everyone sees it as a positive step. Wonder if they will start to put limits on shooting aids???

That'll probably be up to the individual match directors. I wouldn't be surprised to see limits, maybe even at Rattlesnake. The last NWPRL match there John had us limited to only a sling and a ruck.

Indirectly;

Bring what ever kit you think you'll need to be succesful, but plan on humping it all day. Any Team kit found cached between stages or along the stroll course will be confiscated, and auctioned off at the end of the match....

I'm very much in favour of this style of gear restrictions. No fuss, no muss, no gaming, no whining.
