2018 IPSC Canada Nationals

We asked the Selkirk hotel to host our match guests and they declined because they are usually booked full with fishing charters. Web site don't have nothing about hotels, and not even when/how registration will be done.
 
I heard from one of the Top Manitoba (and national) shooters, information should be posted soon as the organizing committee is meeting this week.

Book your hotel in Winnipeg. It is only 20-45 mins drive from Winnipeg to the range.
As a Manitoba shooter, I love to provide as much info as I can.

Winnipeg is horrible for hotel bookings. I had to travel to Winnipeg on business last year and couldn’t get a hotel room ANYWHERE as they had some kind of event on. If a hotel is booked, it is probably for something else and not IPSC as I don’t even believe that a match hotel has been posted yet along with registration.

Just done a quick search with Expedia.ca.
Lots of rooms available in different hotel. price range from $67 per night to $335.
The option is yours.
 
Has the banquet location been selected yet? If yes, maybe you could share that information to assist people with their bookings.

I would hate to be staying in Selkirk and have to go to the Windsor Park Inn for example if that was where the banquet was.

If the location has not been selected, I vote having it at the Casino.

Please, Please, Please do not have it in Selkirk/Lockport/Southbeach etc. !!!!!!!
 
From someone who lived in Winnipeg for 30 years longer than I should have:

You should be looking for hotels in and around the Regent Avenue area. Lots of hotels to choose from. Lots of restaurants to eat at. Only 30-45 minutes from the range down roads that have relatively light traffic. There are also a few options for car rental in the area if you need.

There are two Canad Inns on Regent Ave. One at the Club Regent Casino. One a bit farther down. Both would be good choices.

Other choices a bit farther away would be: Norwood Hotel. Canad Inn Windsor Park.

For those who are looking to save a few bucks: Nor-Villa hotel.

For the ballers and shot callers: Inn At The Forks (right in the middle of Winnipeg's biggest tourist area = restaurants, CHRM, Spa, etc)

For the Party and B*ll Sh*t crowd: This requires an offline conversation. PM me for details ;)

For those looking to be forced into some extra shooting in the evening: Anywhere near Point Douglas will do. Use your own discretion.



****THAT BEING SAID:I would seriously wait until the location of the banquet is announced before booking hotels. I am not aware of the organizing committee announcing where the banquet is going to be yet. If the banquet ends up being in Selkirk (god forbid), you may want to re-consider your plans. However, if it was me, I would still stay in Winnipeg and drive the extra distance.
