Hey guys~about 3-1/2 days before I'm on my Christmas break from work...but still too busy to feel overly "festive" at the moment! :) However, as always, I'm curious to know what the CGN Rimfirenutz have on deck for 2018...? A new rifle? New scope? A trip? Having been a bit of an expensive fall for me gun-wise, I can honestly say I can't see any NEW guns for me in 2018. However, it's looking very good for a return trip to Alberta to pulverize as many gophers as we can. :) I have my ammo rounded-up for that, and am busily running CCI Blazers through my Waltz die to make nasty hollow points out of them. Slow process, die cleaning about every 75 rounds...but I have 1,000/5,000 done as of this weekend.

It's a labour of love...because I know how well they do their job with that modification. :)

Curious to know what everyone else has on deck? If Santa delivers a little $ this Christmas, a scope upgrade might happen...a Marlin 1895 G=neither of which I "need".

Anyhow, wishing all of you a safe, happy holiday season...and a Merry Christmas!

Hoping to upgrade the flimsy Tupperware on my bmag 17 wsm with a Boyd's nutmeg prarie hunter, and maybe a scope upgrade (not sure on that 1 yet). Also not rimfire, but maybe a Boyd's upgrade for the 243 axis as well.

I want to dramatically downsize the collection and spend way more time on the select few I keep! Quality time without the extras! And hopefully try learn how to hit what I am aiming at. ;)

I have downsized to four rimfires total... I do not plan to buy any more in 2018 (yeah, right), but do plan to double or triple the lead sent down range. I only shot a dozen bricks in 2017... sad.

A dozen bricks is sad? Guess I should be VERY sad! lol I probably have about 6-7 down the pipe, but this wasn't a "gopher" year either. :) 2017 saw me spending the most $ per brick though, as I was sorting-out what my new MP R likes to eat. SK Match as it turns out...but I haven't run that many varieties OF caviar-grade ammo through it to be perfectly honest.

As others have said I'm in the downsizing mode this coming year. Being form AB I will be out taking care of as many gophers as I can with the couple rifles I keep. I like getting the 5mm out once in awhile but with only 700 rounds left I usually only shoot 10-20 rounds per outing.

I should downsize the collection some and maybe upgrade the quality a bit.
Would like to find a nice Martini with quality peep sights. Have no need for one and not sure if I would use it much but tell myself it would be good practice for bpcr.
Otherwise need a couple better scopes.

I'll be refurbishing a Walther KKJ-T I picked up a couple months ago, needs a refinish, install a grind to fit buttpad, source out a micro screw for one of the trigger adjustments, then try to do the 1/2" challenge with the iron sights :) I've done it already with it using a scope, so I'd like to make it a little more challenging.

Once I get my tuner back from being bored out, I'll be seeing just how accurate I can make my CZ 455 custom build. It can do the 1/2" challenge no problem, I'm eyeing up the 1/4" club.

In Silhouette I'd like to finish off my 5-in-a-row pin collection, just missing chickens, and get at least one 10-in-a-row sometime during the season.

I'm down to one rimfire. Shot less than a single brick of ammo in 2017. That's sad...
Home renovations have really kept my disposable income at an all time low. For 2018 I'm hoping to just shoot more often, and maybe pick up another gun, who knows. Not likely the way gun prices are going honestly... crikey... wishing I had held on to my marlin lever actions. At least for a few more years.

I want to do the 1/2" 50yd challenge with my 452 FS! The rifle is certainly capable, not sure about the shooter though:)

Magpul Hunter x-22 stock and a Magpul Backpacker for my two 10/22's. Maybe a heavy barrel for the non-takedown. Seem to be having a tough time finding the Backpacker in stock anywhere.

More seat time with my 455 Varmint. I bought it about 6 months ago and life has just been a bit busy. Haven't even really broken it in yet. Once I get more acquainted with it I would like to try the 1/2" at 50 challenge.

I would say "no new .22's in 2018" but I would be lying to myself and you folks. I'll find something that will just have to come home with me. I'd also like to make it out to one of the Mapleseed events. Wanted to make the only one I new of in my area but had a wedding to attend.

And because everyone likes pics of guns
