Hi NHunter great pics, where those wild pheasants or game farm? I know we once had wild pheasants here in the southern part of the province but there gone now. Cant say that I have ever seen any pics of real wild Ontario pheasants. If anyone has pics of real wild Ontario pheasants from back in the day I would love to see them.

Game farm. Name was Crawfords as I recall. They also professionally trained our Springer over a summer as well. Great outfit for certain!

Took these grouse last weekend. By far my most successful hunt to date. Six ruffies and two spruce.

I’ve been slacking in the picture taking part but I’ve been doing alright in the grouse shooting part, here’s what I’ve managed to snap pics of so far. Grouse count is at 14 since opening day, I’m so happy to be out hunting grouse again. They’re such beautiful birds!

You don't need a dog to flush and wingshoot... it is far more fun and productive with a well trained dog, but it can be done without one.

On the ground along the road or old overgrown logging trails is where I see grouse 90% of the time, in fact I’ve renamed my mag fed grizzly the Ground Swatter hahaha. We don’t have much open forest around these parts so flushing with a dog and wingshooting isn’t much of an option, it’s mostly tall and tight around here. They tast the same too
