I returned from the 10 day rendezvous at Heffley Creek (near Kamloops B C ) a couple of days ago. Good weather plus got to meet lots of friends that I see only once per year. Attendance was down a little this year at 107 camps of which 38 were in Primitive. Some new faces although some of the regulars could not make it for various health reasons Most important, I an everyone in general had a good time

It was another great event. If you have not been you are missing a lot. I believe it is still Canada's largest rendezvous gathering of the faithful of the Holy Smoke. People from ID, UT, OR, WA, BC, Alta, SK, Ont, Cal. Schedule apparently will be out in Oct for 2020. It was good to see you there again Doug.

I don't shoot black powder, but I've been up a couple times to check it out over the years. It's pretty cool seeing everyone dressed in period correct costumes and all that. Some family friends almost had my wife talked into doing some cowboy action shooting, but she hates having any sort of audience.
I'm lucky, the range is only about 15 min from my house on my dirtbike. I need to get up there more often to go shooting though.

wondering if this gathering next year would be a good place to sell off my black powder guns?

It's not a bad place to sell traditional BP guns particularly, if they are something different. There were several people selling equipment and rifles.

If they are entry level guns you might have better luck at a gun show or on the EE here.

Glad that you could make it and hopefully will see you again next year.

For Wannabe; there is a "swap meet" for a couple of hours towards the middle or end of the week. You would have to check the schedule (when it is posted) for next year to get the date. There are not a lot of guns sold although there are a moderate number for sale each year. Depends on price and finding the person who wants it. If you are there for most of the 10 days, put your stuff on a blanket with a price.

We have an email telegraph with hundreds of BP shooters. If you send me a list of what you want to sell with you contact info etc. I can get it sent out for you.

Tell me more about this "list" website? organization? facebook group? looking to get more into the BP community in Canada :)

Next year the wife says we’ll make the trip. This year I went to the Lethbridge rendezvous. It worked at the time and was a good introduction for her.

It is not an organization but the efforts of one with others contributing names and email addresses to her. It is a means of letting BP people know about shoots, events, items for sale or WTB, and so on.
