To our valued IPSC Alberta Membership,

As we are all well-aware, we are in unprecedented times that are requiring unprecedented measures to protect the health and well-being of Albertan's and Canadian's as a whole. It should come as no surprise that IPSC-AB is also having to make unprecedented decisions regarding our association and events moving forward.

As per the Alberta governments public announcements earlier today, the social distancing rules for gatherings greater than 15, as detailed within CMOH Order 07-2020, will not be lifted until September 2020, at the earliest.

And so, it is with regret, that we announce that all IPSC-AB events, including the 2020 IPSC-AB Provincial Championship, must be cancelled and/or postponed until further notice. This decision was made by the IPSC Alberta Board of Directors and was based on the legislation of the Alberta Government. We believe this decision is in the best interest of our membership and the range stewards who host our matches.

Please understand that the board did not arrive at this decision easily, nor hastily. We shall endeavor to mitigate as much of the impact as possible and will continue to do so until we are past these uncertain times. As such, we recommend that the membership keep themselves informed of the dynamic and fluid situation, as legislation may change, and we may get back to competition sooner than expected. Similarly, the BOD shall do its best to keep abreast of the situation and will advise the membership accordingly.

Understandable but still super disappointing as this will likely set the stage for Ontario and other provinces next. Darn!!! Got all fit and trained up for a change and looks like there’ll be nowhere to go this season.

Hi Walter, thanks for the update. I'm very disappointed as I was looking forward to getting my Black Badge course completed next weekend and attending some matches this summer.

I'm with Scott though, it also comes as no surprise - I just have to keep a positive attitude. Hopefully we'll all be back out there soon enough!

Alberta should set stage for another provinces not only in IPSC.
