2020 IPSC National registration

It’s nationals boys, most matches lvl2 fill up within a few minutes, now when it comes to nationals especially now with ipsc on the rise in Ontario.
Thank you to Alex for hosting an event I have been looking forward to for almost a year!!

But signing is completely not transparent :
- we don't know, how many competitors in total
- how many spots were available
- what is waiting list standing

And that is a commercial event.

Perhaps you should address all those questions to MD, your Section Coordinator and/or Regional Director.

BTW, this year all provinces sent PO teams, which had reduced general match capacity by 30 slots.

When does registration open?

I'm usually too lazy to adjust all my clocks for daylight savings BS, but want to make sure I'm on time for this.

so you are saying that daylight savings isn't an issue with registration?
Good..I don't have to figure out how to adjust the time on the microwave.

Yes? Registration opened before the time change.

The last registration before match was at capacity was recorded at 8:04:55.

I was just going by what somebody reported on the IPSC Ontario website, that they said at 8:01 that it was at capacity. Not sure how the Google form works behind the scenes, maybe somebody took 5 minutes to fill out the form?

Must be - As people were trying at 8:01/8:02 and it was showing full.

Is that what someone is telling you or you saw it yourself? It's odd, because I was watching over someone shoulder while he was trying to register. He completed registration after 8:03.

All I gots to say is get your technical, accurate, speedy running shoes on! There's going to be tough stages. Oh... and bring your knee pads.

Always enjoyed shooting yer stages so glad to see you’re back designing stages for Alex’s matches Coreyd. Hopefully some spots will open up and i’ll get a chance to shoot them at Nationals this year.

So, just repeating some rumours, eh?

Well if the last person completed their registration slightly before 8:05 PM as you say, does that actually matter? 4 minutes? Are you offended that the match sold out quickly or something? I guess the real question I should be asking is why do you feel the need to constantly make mountains out of molehills about every little thing, both here and on the IPSC Ontario forums?

I think euxx is giving out facts in a thread full of misinformation. He knows the truth, you don't.

Every little thing can be put into prospective. 5 minutes is 5 times more time competitors had to register than you claimed based on unverified information you have heard from someone. It is also 2 times less than we had anticipated.

You are right, it matter not to me, but it seem to matter to some people, including you, on the IPSC Ontario forum and now here. Or else why we are seeing these posts?

I'm not at liberty to post any numbers, but anyone can do the rough math, give or take, how many slots could be available in a 4 days match, knowing it is at the Barrie club and subtract number of the team competitors.

What I don't quite get is why people are surprised match sold out this quick. It wasn't that different in the previous years and addition of PO teams only made it worse.

I've been saying it for a while, it is about time to change the selection process for the National championship. Each section should get X number of slots based on the section membership % and each section select its best-ranked competitors for those available slots. Sort of similar to how IPSC WS slots are distributed.

coincidentally, 5 minutes (or likely less) of total shooting time is what everyone is fighting for and fighting over....
Just to put it into perspective.

pauls, it took you more than that to win your own SG Nationals. The last year HG Nationals overall winner was under 3 minutes. And it took me 30 seconds to look that up. :D
