My brain hurts to think what you paid to get a KM marked walnut stock. Does it match as I think by 41 they were using laminate style stock but Kar 98ks are not my area of expertise.

Only the floor plate and follower don’t match the rest of the rifle but they match each other and it’s definitely a case of wartime mismatch, probably while troops were cleaning their rifles together. Same patina, right code, and only a few hundred serial numbers different.

While laminate stocks were mostly used during the war they never actually stopped making hardwood stocks. You’ll see them on rifles right up to ‘45.
