As promised, here are a couple of shots of my 2020 Python after about 5 hrs work of sanding and polishing. At this point the job is 95% done. I would need to do the inside of the trigger guard, the trigger, hammer and cylinder latch to complete the job. There is a coating from the factory that is difficult to get off. I tried researching it to find out what it was but found absolutely no info on it. It looks to be a clear anodizing and is difficult to get off. All in all , I think it was worth it and you can see the difference when you compare to the cylinder latch which still has the coating. Under very bright lights, the opaqueness of the coating is quite evident........

Looks great!!!!! Nice work.

Out of curiosity, is the cylinder latch a MIM part? I just wonder how a MIM part will take to polishing. Never had any experience with polishing that type of metal.

Wow! Beautiful! Nice job. That's a lot of work. I looked at my King Cobra Target and thought about doing this but that factory coating looked very difficult to remove.

Still hard to beat the true mirror polish on a genuine Colt BSS.

Actually, the job I did is every bit as good if not ..... better!

I could have easily put something in the background to reflect..... and I dare say it would be clearer.

I have done many a BSTS "improvements" in my time.

I did that to a surplus Browning Hi Power. It was pretty beat up and sanded and polished it to reblue it. It looked so nice and shiny that I decided to leave it that way. I sold it that way and the new owner loved it.

Looks great bud, but you need to finish that cylinder release and the other bits. It just detracts and draws the eye. I know when you are done, it's will be superb.

Although it may not be quite as nice as a certain nickel Python you sold a guy a while ago.....
