There are many "boxes" at SHOT show, but laser wind reading at Trijicon caught my eyes. Wind sucks and unfortunately it takes years of experience and practice to get good winding, even then first round hit at extended range is no easy task.
I admit I have to do a bit of google search after I got back to the hotel. I typed in Laser wind sensor a whole bunch of things pop up, a few scientific papers and a government solicitation from the 90's. And then there is a 90,000 dollar unit for sailing. I don't know the technology much so I can only regurgitate what Triijcon said, ok, I will just show you the picture here.

Putting aside the science, what Trijicon is going to offer a laser box that will do wind reading and range finding. The wind reading is not just the wind speed at the spot the box is setting at, it is the wind speed and direction down range and incrementally. So if you are shooting down an valley and the wind is blowing in opposite directions at different points, this box will detect it. Neat. And the box will then pump all the information into the ballistic calculator and provide the solution. It will even indicate the aiming point on your recticle of choice if you run a Christmas tree recticle like H58.

For a projected price of 8 to 10K, you can enjoy all the convenience.
