2022 Whitetail Thread

I have an elk and a moose in the freezer already, so my deer hunt 2022 was kinda casual and short. Here's a picture of my whitetail this year. " " ;-)

I shot this one last year. Will likely never shoot a bigger one.

This years buck. How much force does it take to break an antler off?!

Rattled this one in for my son. He made an easy 40 meter shot. Had some stir fry for supper tonight. It was excellent.

A rare find. A young guy I know, works in a community pasture and spotted these. He got a permit and is getting them euro mounted.

This buck was spotted this morning. Season is coming to an end. He may make it yet.

great. Congrats! You guys have some really nice bulls out there in SK prairies. The world record wt belongs to a guy from SK - Milo N. Hanson, Score: 213 5/8.

I did not bad this yr too:
a 350LB blk bear in June (rifle), a moose in Sept(crossbow) - called him in, then 10-pts wt almost 3 weeks ago - stalked it early morning 20 min before sunrise and shot using a390 + slug at 40 yds.
This my best buck so far.

Got my deer Wednesday November 16 at 9:38 am. I called at 9:30 and he responded right back. A few minutes later he was behind my stand where I walked in with a drag line with synthetic doe in heat. With his nose down he came close enough for me to get one shot off. He ran about 20 yards and expired where I could see him just before I was about to take the second shot. I waited 20 minutes and climbed down the treestand to see him. The bullet went right through and there was no blood trail on this one.

Just popped in to say I shot my first whitetail today. Nothing for the record books, just a little spiker, but I’m new to hunting so pretty pumped. I wasn’t sure how gutting would go, but it was OK, and I didn’t ruin too much meat. The deer is hanging in my buddy’s shed and he’ll guide me through butchering.

Good job! Very happy for you and I'm sure this will be the first of many.

Congratulations. Enjoy the deer steaks this winter.

No Ford Broncos were hurt.

Just soaking the heart for tonight, and frying the scraps for the animals. Pretty exciting and fun to harvest your own food, but you all knew it already. Now all I need is better knifes for processing, meat grinder, sausage stuffer and and and…

Nice!

First one is always amazing.

Have become two of the essentials in our venison butchering process. A couple buddies and I use my machines to do up 150-200 lbs of smoked venison sausage a year and between our families & friends that gat a taste every year we run out long before hunting season every year.
