AFRA has 2 matches in July and to avoid the long weekends at either end of the month, a match usually falls on one of the weekends of Calgary Stampede. Rooms are going to be hard to get and very expensive for travelling shooters. Book now if you intend to shoot. Camping at the range is always a great alternative.
The registration for the August 12/13 Match is now open.
It will be a combination of 800 and 900 metres depending upon total registered shooters. 70 rounds per day minimum. Could be 4x800 and 4x900 or 2x each on each day.
This is the ideal match to practice for the Provincials in early Sept. BTW, the Provincials are almost full. Provincials are a FULL GO regardless of weather.
Registration closes 8:00 pm on Tuesday Aug 8 for this match. Confirmation to go out by morning Wednesday for corrections. Final squadding and a weather NO/NO GO by 8:00 pm on Thursday Aug 10 for the August 12/13 match.

The registration for this match is now open. 70 rounds per day minimum plus any fouling shots you might use.
The match will be some combination of 700, 800, and 900 metres depending upon the number of competitors.
AFRA is trying a 1 time only trial of STRING SHOOTING. It is NOT NRA style with unlimited sighters. It will be 2 + 15 per target. It will be based upon the ICFRA Rules Section 13TA where string shooting can be done under these rules. This is not a permanent switch to “string” and no other matches this year will be this format. This is a experiment where we will ask for feedback after on the format.
Registration is now open for the Sept 23/23 match.

The last Officially Scheduled Match of 2023 is set for Oct 14/15.
The combination of ranges will be determined once we see the interest. 500/800/900 combo.
At this time of year, we can expect a snowfall at the range any time now, so this match is subject to weather cancellations. Registration closes 8 pm Tuesday Oct 10th.
October 15 was our last official scheduled match for the 2023 Season. We will monitor weather and see if we can squeeze in one more day before we get the usual 6 feet of snow at Homestead.
