Only ever shot gophers on the snow once. A 55gr SP out of a 22-250 makes an impressive red mist on the snow.

If you're ever in Olds area there's tons west of town before the foothills. Just pick a patch of field, get permission, and have fun

I work in Olds. Any suggestions? North or South of the hwy?

i doubt you would have to go to far east to find lots

Oh man, I need to build this shooting setup! Although, if using a rimfire I like to be up higher to reduce ricochet.

Yeah I'm thinking at least three hours, maybe four to get into the good gopher country.

Gopher season is somewhat delayed right around where I live. We got 14-16" of snow the other day. I usually don't get my shirt in a knot until the new crop of little ones are out and about.

Both, I’m assuming he is implying take a drive out 27 towards sundre. Endless places to shoot those buggers. I’m about 50 km east of olds if you’re out that way I can take ya to some spots.

You sound like someone I could be friends with. I just got the Howa 1500 cdn edition with a big ole scope in 223. Bought some reloading gear and need a place to play with it. Living in calgary. If u want some company sometime ...let me know. Available most weekends.
