LOL, haven't heard that saying in a while (and usually it sounds more demeaning (to me) when said as "Some people's children").

That is a pretty good price, especially since shipping is free if you order 2 or more jugs, definitely worth considering.

4895 I put that S**T in everything

That's basically my plan for whatever *4895 I choose.

H4895 is waaay hotter and the Hodgdon data for it is way over pressure beyond the mid range. I'll be trying my last lb in 308 shortly and wont likely be buying any more.

This is actually my experience as well, had to cut my 223 ladder test short way back because I was finding it was too hot. I ended up pulling the last group of my ladder because I didn't want to risk it, and I always leave buffer at the high end during my tests (basically, I only test the really high end if everything else looks good), so the group I pulled and the group that looked a little over pressure would have been not a huge amount higher than the mid-range of the Hodgdon data.

FWIW, I have used IMR 4895 (regualr and SC), Varget, RL-15, N140 and N150 to load 308 match ammo with 155s.

If I was going to pick one for a heavier bullet, i would try Varget and N150 and 4350, if I had some.

Funny that this poll goes up today as I reloaded 308 for the first time yesterday. I only have a pound of H4895 which won't go far in the rifle world, and my local place is out of stock but they have 8 lb jugs of IMR 4895 in stock, which I've read is very similar (burns a bit slower, slightly more temperature sensitive)... Should I just buy the 8 lbs of the IMR or wait for a big jug of H4895 to come in stock?

you should buy a jug of 4895 from CanadaAmmo for $159 and $10 for shipping

as per Yomomma's post

and i am loading 168 SMK BT and 44.1 grains of BL-C(2) puts them all in the same hole....

Ordered two jugs of the D4895 from CanadaAmmo last night, one for me and one for a friend (and saved the $10 of shipping). At the rate that I shoot, it should last me a little while.
