204 Ruger Recipes

Hard to beat 39 BK's or 35 Bergers with 8208. My last CZ shot 40's well. I'm hoping I can get my new CZ to shoot them. I've never played around with lighter bullets.

If you really like your 204’s, not a bad idea to rebarrel with an 11 twist and buy a bunch of 40 V max. They are cheap and abundant. The sierras and Bergers are so expensive and hard to find.

Those 2 bullets are all I shoot and both with 8208 yes. And it’ll be a long time before I gotta worry about rebarreling but yes you have a point there sir. Cheers.

I’ve got a couple loads that I like, got a Tikka Varmint. Going through my notes here, I see I don’t have a speed on them but a really sweet group at.3” 39gr Blitzking with 27.7 RL15. That’s at .015 off the lands. I worked that up and then didn’t use the 204 anymore as I’ve been playing with a 17Rem recently.
Another 204 is with 32Vmax. Use rl15 in that as well. They were going around 4K IIRC. Shot a few thou rounds of that, very good round. Hard on fur unless you hit them full-on the side or front and stay away from the shoulder. No quartering shots as well cuz the bullet opens up too quickly and you have a dead yote but a huge mess of the fur.

I’m not a fur hunter so I really don’t give a s*it where I hit them. A dead dog is a good dog!!!
