Any suggestions for a rifle and scope combo for no more than $1000.00 but preferably less?

There is a Savage model 10 of the EE with scope for 650.00 that seems to be a smokin deal to me. There is a 204 Tikka with a Leupold for a grand that also seems like a GREAT buy. Greg
 
I saw those after I posted this and forwarded on the info to the concerned party.
 
I got my cz 527 with talley lightweights for $850. Nice wood and pretty decent fit and finish and the set trigger can't hurt when I get some weather to do some load development. Glass is such a personal preference that it could go either way in keeping it under a grand.

I got one of these this spring of the EE, put a nikon 6x18 buckmaster scope on it and even with me shooting it, it will group under 1/2". Also WSS has a Savage 16FCSS for $720.
 
I would also look at a Tikka T-3. I doesn't leave you alot of change for a scope but recoil is not a big issue with the 204 and you could always upgrade your glass in a year or 2.
