204 Ruger

The Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision Varminter is probably the only factory .204 Ruger capable of shooting the 50 gr Berger with consistent accuracy. But at 12 lbs, it's virtually a dedicated bench gun for sod poodles.

204 needs lots of twist. The 1:12 will generally not shoot anything heavier than 32's (well). I'd love to play with a 1:7 and i think it would be perfect for Berger 50's

No personal experience but lots of anecdotal evidence out there on the intarwebs saying 39 Sierra's shoot great out of 12s, but the longer 40 Amax's not so much.

I'd love to get one somewhere between, 10 or 11 but it's custom only from what I can see and I'm on a 'factory' budget.

As a whole, .204's do tend to be fickle about their diet. Although, my Remmy 700 VLS has taken everything from 32 to 45 gr bullets without too much trouble.

I with you Redhouse. I'd love a custom barrel but can't justify spending extra
money. I'm looking at a Remington SPS varmint. I'll just have to find something that shoots good out of it.
Hey CV32, what does your gun like?
