204 Ruger

I just bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in 204 and am playing around with different ammo. I have Hornady 32's and 40's. I have used Remington Shoot to figure out the ballistics of all my other cartridges but it does not have anything for the 204. Could someone help me with sighting the gun in and finding out how high to sight it in at a 100yrds.

I would like to know how high at 100 yrds and what impact it has at different ranges. Also how much of a difference does it make switching between the 32grain and the 40 grain ammo.

I have the same gun and Im running the 40 grains. They are still going 3900 fps, instead of the 4100 fps of the 32 grains and use the same style of bullet if you buy Hornady.

I have to say, after reading up on the SPS V I thought it was going to be 50/50 on how the gun would shoot, but so far I have been VERY impressed with the SPS V in .204 using the 40 grain bullets from Hornady.

This is a rough guess but I think if your 1.5 high at a 100yrd it will have you set for 200yrd center, Rough estimate.

I have on of these babies too. With the Remington 32 gr a 200 yd zero has it at +.8 inches acording to the Reimington site

if you are buying Hornady ammo the ballistics of each lot should be on the sticker/label that keeps the box closed....

I have a 204, shot it for a year, then I found the wonderful 17 Remington....... I havent shot my 204 for a long time now!!
