.204

I do. A lot. No idea, I haven't shot any and no :)

It's great for gophers. You get to see the mist though the scope, which you can't with a 22-250 or greater. It shoots slightly flatter than a 22-250 with 50 grainers, while drifting less. And you get about twice as many shots before having to cool down. All while burning 1/3rd less powder

I have used the calibre on coyotes exclusively for the past 2 years. It is deadly.

If you are using factory remingtons, their twists favour the lighter 32 grainers and I was surprised to admit that the results are excellent. I have dropped coyotes from as far as 250 yards with 32 grain Vmax bullets. I'm not kidding... this round is outstanding for yotes. The entrance hole is sooo small and their is no exit. The v-max bullets do lethal internal damage.

I have a 204 that is my ranch predator control gun and it has served me extremly well. The wife has turkey and chickens by the hundreds and that is pure yote ####. I get to drop fewer of them with the arrival of our Maremma, but I still actively hunt with it and it is incredible.

204

I too have a 204 (a Ruger) and love it. Works very very well on coyotes and does an explosive job on gophers. Easy to find reloading components for. Mine likes both the 32 and 40 grian v-max.

I love mine, it was the result of of my loss at "rock, paper, scissors", my brother Gilly won and got the .223 bbl and I was stuck with the .204 bbl.....shucks.
I'm debating on which powder to use, Benchmark or Varget? Both gave great groups. Mine loves the 32gr V-Max as well. Gophers and coyotes will argue with me on that one!

the 204 runs at much lower pressures than the 22-250 (~52,000psi vs ~65,000psi), and burns a lot less powder. It sounds about the same as a 222 or 223

I've got a Rem 700 LVSF in .204. I like it a lot. Fun round to shoot. Mine shoots great with 35gr. Bergers. I ordered my bullets and brass from the states. I've only shot one coyote with it so far... 50 yards broadside. Tiny entrance and about dime sized exit. Hit him a little further back than perfect (liver shot) and he ran about 100 yards and piled up dead.

It has less noise and recoil than a .223 and a .22/250 sounds like and absolute cannon in comparison to the .204ruger. Been playing around with some handloads - I really got to get myself a chronograph. Needless to say, seems whatever components I mash together, I end up with an accurate round.

I have been using it for a few years, if you reload (negating the cheap factory ammo thing) it easily replaces the 223 for varmint shooting.

It is a perfect coyote calling round for out west here.

I found that components can be a problem but that probably has more to do with No-sale Sports crapy supply chain, than anything else.

My fav coyote head is the 35 berger there are only a few suppilers of that.

Make sure you try the 39 gr blitzkings accurate out of most guns and over all (300+) flatter shooting that the 32's.

I've used a savage 12 VLP for a while and have enjoyed this caliber so much that I went out and bought another one. A savage 12 BTVSS. If AR's were legal out here in Canada for hunting, that would be my next prurchase on a 204 platform.
