Anyone shoot the .204? How accurate is this round?

My wife actually wants to shoot now. But this is the requirements.

- little to no kick. ( no bigger than a 22-250 )
- gun has to be painted pink......
- around the $600 range.

I reload so alls good.

Most likely going to keep my eye on the EE for a .223 but I'm interested in the .204 as well.

Let's be honest, even pink I'll be shooting this gun aswell.
Witch round is better at 600m, .223 or .204?

I have tons of time with .223 but have never fired a .204 so I gota ask.

I shoot a 204 ruger. I assume that's the caliber your talking about.

I have a Savage Model 12 LRPV. I'm shooting 39gr Sierra Blitzkings at 3800FPS with no pressure signs.

Mine shoots under 1/2" at 200 yards and about 1" to 1.5" at 400.

I can't say what one would be better at 600 yards but I'd guess there wouldn't be much difference.

As for recoil the 20 cal kicks a lot lighter then the .223.

Also with the 204 ruger its fun "showing up" people with their big magnums at 400 yards. :D

I would think one of the Sav. bolt guns would work nicely. Price is about right, you can paint to suit. The 223 will be better suited to 600m with the proper twist and bullets. Don`t go the AR route if you want to hunt varmints. Neither cartridge has much recoil, accuracy between the two will boil down to equipment and the shooter.

i wonder if the hello kitty job would make it non restricted... in my books it doesn't even class as a firearm lol. though I'm sure it still goes bang, so that's all tht really matters

The pink camo laminate stocks are a hot item, don't ask me why.
There is a young lady I met who went and got here rpal in order to get a pink camo rifle from WSS, hey if it gets the ladies shooting I say what the heck. She won't have to worry about me wanting to shoot it, I have enough fun with the hornet laminate stocked rifles thank you.

The more colorful the less evil looking fill yer boots

As for the 204 I think with the right bullet and BC it could surpass the 223 at long distance, far less wind drift and drop at even higher velocities. I giggled like a school gurl every time I shot one, no recoil and major explosive results with 32 grain V-Max bullets propelled with 8208XBR powder.

There is a limit to the amount of pink I'll touch :p

Love the 'Hello Kitty' gun... that simply is too much. Did you email the picture to Wendy?

You know what? I really want to paint one up just like it. Seriously. What a gag that would be to take to the range. I think It's time to actually 'invest' in a Norinco CQB just to try it out on.

It just has to be done... it has to...:D

So who has the best deal on a Norry CQB these days?

Hahahaha. Ask the anti's. They wouldn't call a pink gun an "assault wepon" bet you any money. But they would for the exact same gun in black.

I have a Savage 12 LRPV in .204. It consistently shot 3/4 MOA or better out of the box with factory ammunition and a less-than-stellar shot at trigger. Work up some loads and sub-1/2 MOA would be normal. It's a popular varmint round, which demands good accuracy out to 400 yards or so.

Gophers were out today. 800M Killshots were possible, but the slight breeze was playing havoc at that range.

Most kills were in the 100-400m range with ease. And as a side note the youtube videos... they are a poor representation of the TRUE carnage that happens when a 26gr varmint grenade finds its mark.

Headshots are cool, but belly shots make them critters EXPLODE!

Totally undresses them. I have never seen or experienced anything like it before! The .204 is your own personal ticket to AWESOMENESS.

Using Mil-Dots, 800M was 2.5 dots above zero set at 250.

100 was as challenging as dropping 1/2 a mil.

We shoot the same Gun :) Crappy bolt feel compared to a mauser action, but the stupendous target (red) accutrigger more than makes up for it.

I have been very curious about 204 especially for hunting Sitka deer (Queen Charlotte island Deer)
they are comparable to a large wolf and usually shot within 100 yards or closer.
All the 22s work great from 22lr and up!
