.....

That looks nice. But I think it would be too short. The thrower would tend to “dump” powder into that. The result would be a lot of spilled powder.

FWIW, I tried a measuring cup that was pretty close to that. The force of the powder dropping and the short sides meant powder bounced out of the cup every throw.

I see, can see that happening. Should probably work ok for trickler only setups, without a thrower.

Mine came in the mail today. Put it all together and started playing around with it. I noticed the trickler tube kept spinning out away from the centre until it would pull out rubber tension ring...so I took the o-ring off my old hornady trickler and put it on this on to prevent the tube from going so far back. Really cool machine.

I've used a V2 for a few years and it's a great unit. It won't do ball powders though and it absolutely chokes on N570. I've had to go to using Lee scoops and finishing on the auto-trickle because N570 even clogs up my Hornady powder throw. Been mulling over upgrading to the V3 but having trouble justifying it... I just throw ball powders and 8208 on my Hornady thrower since it's all just .223 practice ammo anyways and do short action calibers on my auto-throw/trickler. I've got it setup where I can do 50 rounds of match ammo on the Auto-throw/trickler and 100rds of .223 at the same time, charging 2 cases of .223 for every charge the A&D spits out.

I've had great success with CFE-BLK (fine ball) and N570 with 1/25 plug up (89gr) in a V3 thrower.

What happens when it plugs up with the V3? Just cycle it manually? My V2 required disassembly. If it's not a big deal I'll order the upgrades just to be able to load N570 more easily/quickly for my Norma.

It will bridge in the drop tube, I just unscrew the tube/funnel/nut half a turn and usually just that gets the powder to drop.

I bit the bullet and ordered a V3 kit with lexan top the other week. Now its the waiting game.

I want to mount it on a slab of granite. What is the approximate footprint of the whole setup? I would like to source a piece before it arrives.

Lastly, what are you guys using for calibration weights? Where did you buy yours from?

My granite slab is 300 deep by 380 wide, you could get by with 300x300 though. I put the stick on rubber feet you can get in the cupboard isle at Home Depot on the bottom.

Since this is this autotrickler thread....
I got a V2, and was going to purchase the Bluetooth adapter only in my recent quest to speed up my reloading process.

Is the V3 thrower really worth it? As I personally have no problems running my V2 thrower with Varget and H4350, am wondering if it will be a noticeable upgrade?

I just got mine upgraded a few weeks ago.The little I've played with it I'm liking it. I ordered that extra powder cup with it.(to speed it up)

The upgraded hopper is so smooth, and I like the blue tooth option also.

Whoa...extra powder cup ?
Do you mean to like have one machine with 2 cups going ?

If that is what your are saying, then how can that work?

Don't want to sound jerky....just trying to get my head wrapped around how this would work.

Wouldn't both cups have to to be exact/identical weight to 0.01 grain (in order for the scale to settle back to zero and drop another charge) ?

I’ve seen a few guys use 2 cups also.
To be honest I had already ordered a V3 cup and trickler body seperately at the time, so didn’t think I would end up with 2x cups when ordering the full V3 upgrade kit, an extra incentive now!

You weight both cups.
Since they are made of glass and not metal, I would imagine adding a tiny dab of epoxy under the handle of the lightest one and sand it down to required weight if necessary.

ohhhhh HELL yeah !

OMG that is a brilliant idea.

Man, the V3 was already like 3 times faster than my Chargemaster.... and then to make it even twice as fast after that !

The only way this day could possibly get any better would be if Justin Trudeau, Bill Blair, & Chrystia Freeland simultaneously retired from politics.

Inspired by the video above, I ended up 3d printing a pair of cups and sanded one just enough to match in weight.

As much as I love the Area 419 upgrades, I was looking at the aluminum cups but couldn't stomach paying $190 for a pair.
