This deactivated 20x110mm cannon round has been laying around my Father's place for awhile. I took it home and did some research on the web to find out more about it. I know it's an HE round, but I'm curious as to whom the manufacturer is and what the MARK 4 designation means. Also for you ammo buffs, the detonater cap is marked "MK-26-1-RM."

Bridgeport Brass Co made that round for it appears to be the Oerlikon 20 mm L70 Cannon's during WWII.

The rebated rim and shoulder angle are a giveaway that that round is for the Oerllikon. I have one of these dummy rounds sitting on my desk as I type this.

There are actually three different types of 20x110 rounds. The first is for the Oerlikon Type S AA gun. The second is for the Hispano-Suiza aircraft gun. The third is a post-WWII development used by the US Navy in the Hispano-derived Mk 12 and the Mk 11 twin-barreled revolver cannon, which was used only in a gun pod.

Gunbroker is listing 7 of them for a buy-it-now price of 49.99, and the auction has been open for a week and is stuck at $25 and "Reserve not Met".

5 are listed with no reserve and zero bids.

There are plenty of other auctions in between, but it looks like there are plenty out there and no one is paying much for them.

You may get a few dollars more here in Canada.

I will give you $20 shipped for it. ;)

I got a 43 with a solid projectile for 30 bucks. Don't believe it's been deactivated as its just a big ass cartridge, no explosive tip or anything. I only felt mildly screwed at that price, it was a had to have it moment.:D

I'm not planning on selling right now as I find this thing pretty interesting. However, I will eventually get bored with it and put it on the EE.
