This is a heads up to anyone that shoots sporting clays in Canada and abroad the Oshawa Skeet & Gun Club will be hosting the 20th annual Canadian Open Sporting Clays Championship. This shoot is the longest running sporting clays shoot in Canada. I would like to extend an invitation to everyone out there to come out shoot some of the best targets in Canada. We had a great showing last year with shooters from east and west parts of Canada and the U.S.A. There will be over 400 registered N.S.C.A targets to shoot over three days in four different disciplines, (main event 200 targets Sat. & Sun, prelim 100 targets Friday, 50 targets five stand Friday, Sat, & Sun, 50 targets super sporting Friday, Sat & Sun). We will have over 100 Promatic sporting clay machines set up and elevated platforms to shoot from.
This year we have managed to attract some new sponsors and this will give us the opportunity to give more back to the shooters for showing there support to this great annual shoot. As always we will have payouts for each class of shooter, complimentary Saturday night dinner and the support of Top Gun Shooting Sports for our side events. Come out we will show you a good time and see for yourself why this is the longest running sporting clays shoot in Canada.
You can register on WWW Winscore.com

The "Open" means just what it say's open to everyone. We will have something for everyone N.S.C.A or not, we will make sure you have a good time. Come out and support the best shooting game in Canada you won't be disappointed.

I apologize, I did not think non NSCA members could win a registered championship shoot or even a class. Good to know.

The cost of the main event targets at $220.00 is a good cost factor. When you are giving money back to the competitors, $7000.00 total prize money, trophies, prizes and a great dinner Saturday evening. I have been to a lot of competitions in Canada and across the U.S.A and we give you a great bang for the money you are spending with this competition. You also have to keep in mind the cost factor to the club hosting this event. This event takes more than one week just to set up, never mind the preparation months in advance by a lot different people. There are referee's for every event, staff to enter scores and keep track of shooter times, numerous trap and maintenance staff. At the end of all this we have to make it worth while for the host club to make a little bit of money to justify closing the club down to their members. If you can make it we would love to have you. You can see for yourself why it's the longest running sporting clay competition in Canada.

Just a little up date on this years 20th annual Canadian Open Sporting Clay Championship. We are filling up our shoot times faster than other years past. If you intend on attending this competition it would be to your advantage to have a look on winscore.com and register as soon as possible. Most of the afternoon shoot times are already taken. You can get a copy of the flyer on our web site "Oshawa Skeet & Gun Club" and it will basically give you the break down for the competition.
We have taken in more vendors this year and included Saturday lunch and dinner if you are shooting the main event.
Hope to see you there. Thanks

Wow....Does $ 220 for 200 targets seem steep to anyone else ?

You should join a club and volunteer your time to get an idea what is involved and what it costs to host shooting events, maintain club property, buildings, machinery etc, etc, etc. It’s NOTHING anywhere close to buying a case of targets and blasting away in the back 40. A club is a business and a business costs money to run. If most clubs had to pay employees to cover the workload instead of having members volunteering that $220 for a 200 target event would easily double.

We are almost there, July 6-8 2018 Canadian Open Sporting Clay Championship. This will be our biggest event ever for the Canadians. We will have paybacks in every class guaranteed and free tee shirts, gun towels, grab bags, lunch and dinner on Saturday for everyone entered in the main event. Also included in this years event are four major draw prizes for everyone entered in the main event. We have a over under shot gun. Promatic entry level trap machine, two pairs of Pilla glasses and 15 flats of winchester shot shells. Come out and celebrate with us on our 20th years anniversary of the Canadian Sporting Clay Championship. You can sign up on winscore.com.

Thanks, Hope to see you there.
