20vartarg or 20practical

wanting a dedicated varmint setup. from people who have one or both, which way to go?

leaning towards the vartarg but more involved getting brass etc. + possible feeding / extraction issues

practical, easy to neck down from 223, unlimited supply of brass, higher velocity, more recoil.

Practical. Brass is nearly free, like you said, more velocity. If it's a dedicated varmint rig, make it 10-12-14 pounds with a heavy 24-26" barrel and watch your bullets hit things in the scope.

If I had to chose between the two it would be the practical. I personally chose the 204 Ruger. Two varmint rifles for shooting gophers and a stainless stalker model for calling coyotes.
