218 Bee

Best damm cartridge I ever played with. I have a Ruger No1 and a Martini blown out to 218 KBee. It is a pleasuure to shoot and with the new powders out there it screams with the best of them. Only downfall is brass is going to be scarce one day.

Ammo and brass may be difficult to find. Especially in small places. And it's expensive. Marstar lists it at $1.17 EACH. $58.50 per 50. Makes it a reloaders cartridge.

I bought it from Wholesale Sports last year for $34 a hundred.

i guess a guy could build one up on a bolt action, any suggestions?

Hi, well I can give a couple suggestions.

1. Keep looking for a used rifle. One will turn up you just have to have patience. Good things come tio those that wait. I searched for about 2 1/2 years before I found my Rem 788 .243 Carbine. Your 218 Bee will surface.

2. Forget the 218 Bee, get a 22 hornet or a nice little .222 or .223. Practically speaking, this option will allow you cheaper ammo, readily available ammo and a lot of different bullet choices.

re the Killer Bee

If you go the lever gun route you are limited to what bullets you can put through her. If you go the Ruger route skys the limit, ballistic tips are just stunning out of my rifles. I am not a fan of the hornet, the Bee has it beat hands down, but alas yes the Bee is for handloaders and hornet ammo is easier to get as is 223 or 222, and these calibres would be a cheaper venue, but the Bee is pure class from star to finish, kind of looks like a micro micro 223wssm
