If fit and finish is good, function is good, and accuracy is good.....what are you waiting for?? Lol even late model jms had factory issues. If the gun in hand passes all the tests ie fit /finish, function, and acceptable accuracy is there, no real reason to say no unless price is out of your budget...

I have a jm 336 my neighbor has a jm 1895
Both had canted sights and rough bores
I have had 2 rem 1895s both had perfect fit finish and perfect guns in every respect.

You get a good idea of what your getting as far as accuracy and function...I wouldn't even hesitate

My Remlin 1894 in 38spl/.357mag has been very good. Wood to steel fit is excellent and with a mounted scope accuracy is as good as I can shoot. Well the bullets go where the gun is aiming which most the time is in sync with where I think I am aiming. :>).

Take Care

I got a new Remington-made 1894 at an irresistible price when Wholesale Sports liquidated. The action functioned just as it should, bluing and wood were nice, but the screw holes in the receiver were out of alignment and the foresight was off-centre. Gravel Agency handled it under warranty, sent a replacement that is just right. When Remington moved production not enough experienced Marlin employees went with it so a lot of inexperienced, newly trained people had to learn on well-worn machinery. Some weren't made right, but probably most are good. Look at it carefully, if you can't see faults and it cycles properly you are as likely to be pleased with it as with any gun.
