Well I've now got one of these in a Ruger #1, waiting on a 1/4 rib from Numric, and my Covid quarantine to be over,
its 1-10 twist, 22" so I was looking at 63gr Serria or 68 Hornady hp,
I have run a threw loads threw quickload at 55000psi, seams like it may perform just a bit under the std 22-250,
Any one running one in a strong action ?, how brass for stretch with higher pressure loads, ?
An interesting winter project. to tinker with.

:)I have an item that's close although just a little under your Zipper. I had a Ruger #1 in .22-250. I gave gave it to my Son who was living in the B.C. central interior at the time and he used it on Coyotes. What I replaced it with was an old custom Winchester High Wall in 219 Donaldson Wasp. On it for glass is an era appropriate scope, a 10X J,UNERTL. It loves 50gr V-MAX handloads:d and the groups are to die for.

Thanks shell shucker, I knew i had seen, data in one of my books, couldn't find it, book must be in NZ,
I ran the 60 gr load data on h380, 4064 and 4320, threw quick load. all at 64-70000psi, perhaps why, its not in my latest Hornady manual. #10.
i see if anyone else is playing with one, in a singe shot,

Have one sitting around in a Marlin action. Have a few cases, but need more. Anyone happen to have a good source? Have a lot of 30-30 brass if it is possible to form them; but I seem to need an in between step.

I'd imagine that there would be a fair bit more stretch with a tapered case at high pressure. And it would tend to wedge harder against the wall, or bolt as it does.

I'd likely pick something a lot less tapered, if I was chasing high pressures and ultra velocities. I have kind of informally settled on a .243 as a reasonable price and barrel life cartridge to drive good BC varmint bullets, very fast.

Dug out my Cartridges Of The World 10th edition to check out both the 219 Zipper and what I have, the 219 Donaldson Wasp. Lot of good info there on both and there's less difference between them than I thought.

No sir, its the same front depth, as the B that I have, yours has 3 stamped on it, only 50 bucks for the A, rib, I didn't think I could lower the back enough, to level the rib at the front.
Tactial lever, It was recommend to me, to use 25-35 brass to resize to zipper, Hornardy makes it, PR has sum in stock.

Thanks. Though it would sure be nice to use all the 30-30 brass I collect...

I think I'd have to get another die or two, to do it in stages, then probably turn the neck down.

I have one in a Martini action. Still a work in progress.
I sized my 30-30 brass down in a few steps. I ironed it out in a 30-30 die with the expander plug removed, then ran it through a 25-35 die with the expander plug removed. Then, i ran it through the 219 Zipper die, and trimmed to final length.
I thing I annealed the brass twice. It's been a dozen years or more.
Had a few cases wrinkle and buckle until I did the annealing thing.

I form 25-35 and 22 Hi Power from 30-30 brass with no problem at all. The intermediate steps are to first partially neck the case to 7mm using a 7-08 die with the decapping stem removed. Then resize to 25-35 using my RCBS sizing die with the decapping stem removed.

Pretty sure you could do the same, and then finish up using the 219 Zipper sizing die.

That old manual, makes me appreciate how many more options, we have now days,

Ya for sure I know what you mean. Something I find interesting about the older manuls is you'll see powder types and load data listed that doesn't show up in new manuals. This is interesting for me because it opens up possibilities that I wasn't aware of previously.

The manual I linked to above is found here under "Vender supplied load data."
