Has anyone had any experience with either of these wildcats?

the .22 would be 7 or 8 twist and 85 to 100grn bullets

the 6mm would be 105 to 120 grn bullets with 7 or 8 twist.

it may be my indecicive personality but i just can't decide which way to go.
any experience or advice is welcome.

both calibers would be for paper at 700 + and coyotes at similar range.

Both are very overbore. Long barrels will be needed and barrel life is liable to be fairly short.

The first, the 22-308, is very similar to the 220 Jaybird which is the 308 case slightly blown out with a steeper shoulder.

The performance of the 6mm-30-06 is almost identical to the 240 Weatherby.

I have extreme versions of both. A 22 Cheetah and a 240 Gibbs. The Cheetah is a 700 rem and 240 is a rebarrelled Parker-Hale. Both are on their 2nd barrel. The 240 is very picky with powder and primer type, but will drive light bullets over 4000. In both rifles the barrels are hot in a couple of shots so they don't make goog gopher guns. Good luck, Mark

I have a 22-243 Middlestead and also a 240 Gibbs. They are both rather specialised calibers. Very fast, extremely accurate, but also quite overbore. I have a RKS gain twist barrel on the 240, I'm very impressed with Ron's work. They are amazing LR coyote guns, and the 240 doubles on deer sized game as well. - dan

The 6mm will be more versatile. You'll have to decide about the rifling twist too. Fast for heavy bullets. 1 in 9 will do nicely.
Where are you seeing 120 grain 6mm bullets? The heaviest I've ever seen advertised in 30 some years was a 115. And only on-line at long dollars.
