22-250 ‘yote gun - Tikka or Savage?

Remember, it's ...... HO HO HO

I like both but I think the tikka is a funner rifle to shoot. Plus it is nice and light so it would be good for a yote gun in the field. The bolt is very smooth and with a 5 round mag you could have some quick follow up shots if needed.

Tikka Lite stainless is a way nicer looking rifle. The Savage has a heavy target barrel, so I guess it isn't a light gun at 8.75 lbs compared to 6 3/16lbs for the Tikka.

So Tikka wins for looks and weight.

Q: Why not wait until January when thew fed tax goes down to 5% from 6%.

Is it Festivus already!??? Time to take out my pole! Hey long timers being rude to poor old Bronco Boy, blow it out your a**ses!

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Yeah, buy the Kimber. (M84 heavy barrel) BTW any rifle that's too pretty to take hunting is not good for much. A Ruger isn't exactly a museum piece, and they make new ones every day.

LOL, true regarding the Ruger not being a museum piece. Mine is the 200 year liberty edition and it's in sweet condition but still, still just a Ruger.

I would love a Kimber or Sako but I can not find a left handed one. It seems most manufacturers only offer their middle of the road firearms in left versions.

Bronco boy,
Finding a left-hand Tikka in a varmint caliber might not be that easy either, unless you already have a line on one. They are neglecting the south paw market at the manufacturing level because they can't keep up with sales in general.

Lots of LH stuff at P&D

It's actually as easy as calling these guys-P&D Enterprises

Which is my point, if you find what you want in stock somewhere grab it. Tikka flat out isn't making left handed rifles at the moment. I went to Africa with the distributor of Tikka, Sako, Beretta etal this summer and he was filling us in on some of the supply situation. Ya snooze, ya loose.;)

Merry Christmas Amphibious.

Bronco Boy....Savage is nice, Tikka is nice too. I prefer the Tikka.

I have a Ruger No.1 in 22-250 and I love the caliber. My No.1 is a real tack driver and I love shooting it. Trouble is that it’s too nice (rich bluing & beautiful walnut stock) and too heavy (varmint barrel) to be a practical ‘yote hunter. It’s my safe queen and range show off gun more than anything. I want to get another 22-250 for the sole purpose of chasing Wile E. After some research and thought I have narrowed it down to 2 guns, both in stock at Wholesale. I want to place my order on the 27th. What one should I go with and why?

Choice A

TIKKA T3 LITE SYNTHETIC • Stainless - Left Hand

OR

Choice B

What one should I go with and why? The money difference is not an issue and I already have a really nice Bausch and Lomb 2.5-10 4200 to mount on whatever gun I get.
