out all night an slept in back of the ute, waking periodically to thermal the paddocks as the dogs were howling, long story short but seen 7 dogs over night. had some 40m from the ute, got some thermal footage, in the moodnight at 5am i could visibly see a dog 40m from the ute an slid the Sako 75 up an smacked it with no aid in the nightforce svh 5-20x50 scope!!!
at day break i howled one out from the timber and into the open paddock, it was coming down the tube until it seen its friend, slipped down a gulley an toward the timber, so i snuck down howling an cut him off. 150m shot with 55gr btsp in the 250!

cant wait for the 6x47r..... next weekend! will turn it into a dedicated Dog gun to run with a Torch - keep the thermal as a monocular i think for now.. see what happens.

Pretty much!

These are proberly closer related to the Dingo.
Controversial topic at the moment.

Typically Wild Dog crossbreed with Dingo but id say these come out of the woods.

On private land they are unprotected...
Protected on public land etc

I understand totally. I grew up a country boy in Alberta. There were events where late at night dogs from different farms that had the yards and homes not too far from each other would start to pack up and kill livestock. Mostly sheep/goats and calves. Daylight came and they were back to the friendly farm and working dogs they were. Eventually mysterious killings got solved and every single dog had to be exterminated or any dog escaping the ‘death sentence’ would start another pack out of the replacement dogs. I saw some very sad farm kids learning their dog’s time had come. But unlike town/city kids, farm kids learn very young why all the animals on the farm are there and what those animal’s roles are whether it’s food or money. Farm kids learn to adjust and roll with the punches life throws their way pretty young.
