I bought a box of 40 gr Nosler Varmageddon bullets to try in my 22-250. Anyone have any powder recommendations to start with? I can look up charge weights as I have a bunch of manuals. Just looking for a good starting point or two. On hand, I have H335, H & IMR4895, Varget, 4320, 3031, and 4064. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Accuracy Load: Viht N140/ 37.8grs. 4000fps/ 1421ft. lbs.
Hunting Load: Viht N140/ 38.6grs. 4100fps/ 1493ft. lbs.
Sierra

3031 will also give you 4200 fps as with VV N140

I worked up to well over book max with a 40 gr vmax and got incredible accuracy. Not sharing the charge weight of varget but these .22-250 remingtons love to be pushed hard!

For what you have on hand, Varget and H4895. If you are buying more try Benchmark.

I use both varget and h335.
For varget and 40 grain z-max bullets my gun liked 38.5 grains of varget. my gun is a Remington 700 and has a 1:14 twist but I wish it was 1:12
I find the H335 to measure and flow through my powder dispenser more consistently but have only used it with 50 grain bullets
