22-250 vs 223

Start a new thread. But in the interim, 204 equals fun. :nest:

Try a 204. Higher bc on those then the normal hunting .224" bullets.
Hornady 40gr in a 204 bc od .274. hornady 55gr in .224" .255. The 53gr vmax is .290
204 39gr blitzking .287. 224 55gr blitzkind .271

Those who know, understand this little wonder Cal..

I've had all four of these Cals in the cabinet together at one time or another. Sold both the .223 & .22-250 and now just the 204R and .243Win reside as my 'Yote rigs.

I just bought both and have had several .223's as well a 22-250 .I handload so if most don't it doesn't matter, but you can load a .22-250 down to .223 velocity if needed but you can't load a .223 up to match the .22-250 I have copious amts. of .223 brass so that's why I picked one up....I like both as well as the triple deuce..only real difference is horse power/component/ammo cost...can we start a .280 vs 7mm Rem mag thread next ?..Harold

I love the .223, probably my favourite cartridge at the moment. Especially with 68gr. and up bullets, it's such a nice mild round and just about any rifle will shoot it fine. I don't dislike the .22-250, I just don't see a need for it as I practice shooting my .223 "at range" anyways.
