22-250 vs .223

Krieger is low end, huh? As I said, $350 all in.

However, the OP asked about a coyote cartridge. Arguing over a hundred bucks on a barrel install is kinds taking his question sideways.

I do shoot that much. In honesty not this year due to house reno's but I will fix that ASAP. Only about 1000 centerfire rounds this year, maybe a bit more.

I see it like a guy buying mudder tires for a truck then parking it in the garage.

"See my new tires?"

"Yup, how do they work?"

"How do they work??? You crazy, no way do I drive the truck, that might wear my tires out!!"

What is your experience in rounds that wash out the throat in 2000 rounds? Just wondering. Rifles are made to shoot. Wear the barrel out, and do it again. To NOT do that is a waste of money. :)

Re cost, if you handload there's not much difference in costs. And just to be clear, that rebarrel every few thousand rounds that costs say $500? To get there you need to burn at least a couple thousand dollars in ammo. Barrels are the cheap part of the equation.

That is a good point. Like i have conceeded i don't havew any experince in either of these rounds , so i was just going by the fact that stated barrel life is X i shoot enough to reach that number of rounds so it is a possible concern.

I only really mentioned barrel life because the OP mentioned cheap as one of his factors , and .223 is cheaper. If your spending 1500 on ammo to wear it and then another 400 for a new barrel and install then it could get more expensive in a shorter period of time. That was really my logic. Like i said i don't have personal experince in these chamberings.
