Ok, if $700 won't break your bank take a look at the HW 97's.... :)

good golly thats a beautiful work of art. Air arms is top shelf, Im into air guns but had never seen this one, thanks, you ruined me :)

I have been eyeing this for a while. I have a very nice Weihrauch HW 30, super light and accurate (5.5 pounds), a LOT less squirrels eating my barn now, and its very quiet about 68 db.

If you want a quick light super high quality springer to dispatch a squirrel or pigeon this is the gun to get. With the included irons its good out to 30 yards (verified with my laser range finder)

The irons are bang on accurate. A cheapy 4x scope would almost take the fun out of it.

Now for something new, this Hammerli unique air gun uses big 88 gram co2 cylinders and (this is the big feature) has an 8 shot rotating bolt action magazine, for those follow up shots you WILL need.

I think this is a site sponsor so here is the link, I have NOT shot this but will soon

Im am a springer only guy for now, the pcp thing is still not happening for me for many reasons. However if you want multiple fast bolt action shots this is the gun to have (I think) German quality!

$420 CAD from canadian company that I have used, they are good

You can get an adapter that uses 2 of the little co2 cylinders that are so common so you dont need the big 88's. Just grab a box of the 'regular' ones at crappytire and you can use them in this gun with the adapter.

I have a Weihrauch HW95 in .22 cal with a vortex spring kit which greatly reduces vibration. I like the 95 as the compression tube is thinner than an hw80 and it has a shorter barrel which for me makes it a lighter and handy shooter that i want to carry for longer periods. It still has lots of power and the quality is just as good as their other rifles. I prefer HW over diana not that i dont like them, i just find the balance of the 95 better and the record trigger too. The materials they use in my eye is better too. No plastic although to Dianas credit the plastic trigger, cap, safety, and sights hold up very well.

Although I was thinking why dont you get a .22 diana if your happy with yours. D&L airgun may even be able to get you a 34 barrel in .22 as well. If you like diana you may want to look into a k98 in .22 cal. I know i sure want one.

This summer I bought a Diana 34 Premium in .22 cal. (740 fps) and I love it. Haven't had a need for more fps as of yet, so I'm not sure if the 800 fps minimum is a serious sticking point for the OP.

I can take down crows with it, but mostly use it for magpies and gophers. My backyard has been fairly pest free this summer.

A friend of mine tried it out and immediately bought one for himself for pest control around the house.

About a $500 rifle, but money well spent for myself.

A Weihrauch or Air Arms are both quality rifles. The big advantage of the underlevers are the rigid mounted barrels with the optics on the tube which translates to greater accuracy potential. I have HW97K's in both .177 and .22 and wouldn't hesitate to shoot any critter that I was confident of a head shot on. Practice your distances and get your drops. The .22 gets used for critters because of the larger hole and greater energy transfer.

IanC already mentioned... the Diana 98k is awesome in .22 - mine getting worked on and I miss it dearly. If you’re gonna shoot, might as well do it in style!

I have a Stoeger X20 I bough several years ago. Works fine for me. Squirrels, raccoons, chipmonks, muskrat, gophers, crows, all victims. Very accurate with lead pellets.
