22 ammo accuracy?

Off whose shelf? How far are you willing to go to get the most accurate 22 ammo? There is Eley and Lapua target ammo here in Canada that would probably be considered the most accurate, but it is pricey. After that, its a matter of trying many different brands and seeing what your gun likes. My guns tend to shoot most accurately with CCI and American Eagle ammo, but we are not talking one hole at 50 yards. Best groups are in the 3/8" for 5 shot groups. I'm sure the guys with Anschutz shooting Eley and Lapua ammo would consider that pretty aweful.

If you're looking for Internet articles, Gun-Tests has about 5-6 free ones floating around.....;).......but for a practical answer, buy a slew of 50-round boxes and see what works best for yo uand yours.......:).......oh - try to remove "the human-error factor" as much as possible, when any rifle is tested for accuracy with a given type of ammunition.......

True, my brother and I both have BSA smallframe Martini rifles, and mine shoots Lapua 'better' than Federal Match.
In his BSA, it only shoots 'well' with Lapua......so I have to agree with Grouse Man's statement here.

Plus, there's the bullet-sizes to choose from..:yingyang:...even with the same make/model, some rifles will like (e.g. the Lapua with) larger .22 bullets, and some the smaller.....:)

I've had good luck with lots of premium ammo in my accurate .22s, Lapua in one, RWS R-50, in one and Eley Tenex in another...usually nothing comes close to this ammo except Fed. Gold Medals.
