.22 Ammo Comparison In Both Chiappa Little Badger & Short Lane 12-22 Rifled Adapter

This week I bought some new brands of .22 ammo. Along with the brands I already have I used:

1 - Win T22 (std vel solid - 1150 fps)
2 - Fed Game Shok (hi vel hp - 1240 fps)
3 - Rem Thunderbolt (hi vel solid - 1255 fps)
4 - Fed Am Eagle (hi vel solid - 1260 fps)
5 - Rem Cyclone (hi vel hp - 1280 fps)
6 - Rem Yellow Jacket (hyper vel hp - 1500 fps).

-----

Two series of five shots each of each brand were shot in my Chiappa Little Badger at 25 yards using a reflex sight. Their order of accuracy from greatest to least (two groups averaged) was: 6 (.85"), 2 (.95"), 4 (1.1"), 3 (2.5"), 1 (3.5"), and 5 (3.7")

My Chiappa clearly had a preference for hyper velocity Yellow Jackets, and Federal ammo. Furthermore, the rifle consistently misfired using #'s 3 & 5. I guess that the LB doesn't like Remington's hi vel priming system. And on #'s 3 & 5 the brass did not seal fully and allowed some blowback through the firing pin hole resulting in a puff of smoke on my cheek each time. It did not do any of this with the Federal or Hyper Velocity ammo.

While I did not shoot enough groups with each brand of ammo for these results to be statistically significant, each brand was consistent enough in its size and location for this to give me a good indication of what this rifle most likes, and since I am only figuring on ever using it out to 25 yards or so, it's good enough for my usage.

I also ran the same test using my 12-to-22 adapter from Short Lane (rifled, OAL 8"). This was inserted into an H&R standard slug gun with rifle sights. I was really pleased with the results here...surprised in fact.

Their order of accuracy from greatest to least (two groups averaged) was: 1 (.33"), 6 (.88"), 5 (1.0"), 4 (1.3"), 3 (.96"), & 2 (.97")

For my control I used my Win 320 which I have owed since 1973 with an old Weaver 4x scope on top. It's smallest group was .5" and it's largest was .75". It's always digested everything well.
