What have you guys been finding for the cheapest 22 ammo out there? It seems to have gone up a lot. Normally I used to run the federal bulk packs through my 10/22 but they are up to $30 in calgary now at C tire and Wholesale. Stopped at bass pro and they had 2 types of remington bulk packs, (golden bullet 525 and thunderbolt 500's) for 19 and change, also had winnies for 15-16 bucks but they make my gun jam. Anyone know of any low cost sources for the federal ammo or good prices for american eagle (my gun likes both)? Gophers are going to get expensive this year at $30 a pack!

Got and or had both but I don't burn through the ammo the same way with them as I do with a 22, probably used 500 rnds from a 17 last summer and 5000 from a 22, not much compared to what some guys go through but I hate paying double what it was a few years ago.

I buy a couple bricks each payday or 5 bricks if they are a good deal and by spring I have enough for the shooting I do. then I use the local country store for ammo as they tend to be a lot cheaper per brick.
I picked up several 500 round bricks of American Eagle(Federal) at Al Simmons gunshop in Hamilton Ont. for $22/500. This is the best price I have seen anywhere. I even commented to Paulette that I was surprised by the price as Crappy Tire now sells the Federal bulk packs for $29. I guess you just have to shop around.
