.22 Ammo Prices at Canadian Tire

Problem is that these aren't bad for my health. So they can charge me whatever the hell they feel like, I would find a way to make it out cheap.
Like that guy who was questioning about industrial machinery for re-loading a while ago. I could see if ammo got worse (probably around the $4 mark) people would mass produce roll your owns, and get a commercial lisence to sell them, buy rounds from the factory in the 100,000 you are bound to get some sort of a deal...
A few years ago when my wife and I stocked up on the Federal 525 packs for $11.99 (on sale from $13.99), the CT clerk berated us endlessly. He claimed the price on .22 would never go up enough to justify buying in bulk, so we were just throwing our money away.

so the clerk at Canadian Tire berated you for buying ammo on sale eh . when someone at a store tries to pull something like that on me well lets say they get a piece of my mind . I used to work in a grocery store for 10 years and now I'm in the construction field delivering concrete.
just a tip . you don;t have to take any grief from a clerk or anyone else as a matter of a fact especially when your spending your hard earned money .if you don't like what's happeing then just look at the person and say do we have to call the manager ???? it just seems like you don;t want to take care of business so maybe he will take care of me ???? I guarantee you buddy will dummy up and won;t give you flack anymore .

Ammo prices are up to the owner of the canadian tire store.
All based on the price and the amount each store orders, not the price the company sets.
Find a canadian tire that sells alot of ammo and you will fine its cheaper then other stores.
Its the same as if you buy fro ma gun shop, price is based on what they pay for the ammo per shipment.

Prices are set to a pretty well defined system. All product moves through one of a few cetral distribution centers before making it to a particular store. There are exceptions of course, but not for regular stock items like most .22 ammo. I worked the gun counter at South Red Deer CT for several months when I was young before the BS got to me. Thanks for sharing though...

Yes the stores can buy whatever they want. My store stocked everything from .22LR to .338 RUM. At least one of pretty much everything inbetween. Even that was priced on a defined scale though. Landed cost + 10% IIRC.
