22 Ammo shortage, specifically CCI shortage~vendors...what have you been told?

yea the olympic guys dont at all. however, they are sponsored so its not like they shop retail anyways. a lot of the appliseed guys will shoot NA rounds though. you can get some pretty good results from the north american 'match' grade ammo. i have seen amazing results )especially out of bolt guns) running federal target, CCI SV, remington target, and especially remmington eley ammo. obviously these dont usually compare to what you will get from a $0.40/round euro round (depends on the gun of course), but they are more than good enough for non-pro competitions and practice.

22lr guy. .. why is ammo so hard to get? When ammo makers are making at the fastest pace ever? Dealers used to be able to buy all they want when they wanted and now they can't why? Where is it going? I offered a plausible explanation many think is nuts. It is nuts but it's plausible. I believe it but then I have seen evidence.

Where do you think all the surplus ammo is going since it's not hitting the resellers shelves?

And the evidence is where?

I was at Lebaron in Markham on Saturday picking up some 9mm.

Asked the lady behind the counter about CCI. She said they have had an order in since early last year and have no idea when it will come in. One of the guys on the floor said he knows for a fact some has come in, but it was all sent to their Montreal store.

I was at the Montreal location few days ago and they have nothing except winchester 222 and 333 for 15 and 25 bucks
got a 222 just to get something after the drive but that was it for the choices

And the evidence is where?

we have already established that there is none. might as well be saying that he saw a pig flying after a unicorn who was contracted by obama himself to steal his leprechaun friends pot of gold.

$60+ a brick is to expensive for me. However not for some.

agreed. i paid $50 a brick for federal champion including tax and delivery because i was just able to buy a full case. i know i could have bought similar quality for a bit less than that but like this i dont have to worry for a while. buying 5k rounds at once makes my life a lot easier. laziness won out.

I'd tell you where all the .22RFammo has gone but then I'd have to kill you. Gov't non-disclosure agreements are a biotch!

I have found places outside of the regular firearms ammunition supply system to have a decent stock of ammo. Little fishing and hardware stores that carry a small amount of ammo and buy it from different suppliers have told me they haven't had any problems getting ammo.

You guys can mock me all you want, tin foil hats conspiracy theories and whatever, most of you have never left Canada, and don't really know what goes on in the real world. clueless to be sure.

As for the grammar correction if English was my first language, I'd worry about it, since its not, not a big deal

Back to the 22 ammo shortage. Folks the plants are running full out, full steam ahead, and making more ammo than they have ever made in the past, yet their is less on the shelves than anytime in recent history. This goes for all the main calibre's, 22, 308, 9mm, 223. Tell me what caliber have the most murders in the U.S. been committed with? if you say 22 you are right. If you don't think this admin wants to ban guns, you are not paying attention. Since they cannot ban guns what is the next best way to restrict or reduce crimes committed with 22 shells? I know its ridiculous, but most politicians are ridiculous. Many believe if you restrict the sale of ammo you will reduce crime, this is the thinking. so what happens, they work to take 22 shells of the streets.

There are 5 that I know of, of huge warehouses, full of recent production ammo, full, these warehouses are huge. who owns them? who's ammo is it? if you really think through the logic of this, its not logical, as the ammo makers will just make more and the buyer of that stored ammo will have spent zillions for nothing. Its not logical to buy the ammo to get it off the street, but then negotiating a deal that gives Iran nukes is not logical either. The admin in the U.S. is not logical. This is not conspiracy theory folks its what's happening, you don't have to believe it at all. Facts are facts what you make of them is your business.

The facts are there is an ammo shortage for the average consumer
The facts are the ammo makers are full out making more ammo than ever before.

Its up to you to do the math and try and figure out why that ammo is not hitting the store shelves. I have given you one explanation, that makes sense to me, because I know a trustworthy person who has something to do with one of the warehouses. They are trustworthy to me and that's good enough for me to believe them. You don't have to, I don't care. The op asked so I am simply sharing what I know to be true. you can shoot the messenger, it doesn't change the facts.

I tried to read this entire thread, but after the bold statement I had a hard time focusing on what I was reading. All I can think is that maybe you heard a reference to how 'hitmen' have been known to use 22 because it is quieter than C/F, and can be very effective from short distances for head/spine/brain shots. Maybe 22 is/was for the most 'contract' murders or something like that, but responsible for the most murders? Really?

Anyway, just my $0.02, I'm going to buy some 22LR now.
