.22 And Distance????

I've shot my Remington 597 at 200 yards as well. We have a steel plate at our range about a foot in diameter and about the best I was able to achieve was 6 or 7 shots per 10 rounds on target. This is using CCI Blazer bulk stuff. I didn't adjust for the drop with the scope, just held higher. Overall I was impressed. I'm sure your Savage is more accurate.

I used some pop cans tonight and took them both out in 3 shots using some Winchester rounds i had kicking around. Going back tomorrow to see how i do on paper.

I own an acreage and from my deck to my far target is 175yds. From the end of my driveway to my target is just over 400yds. I could put a target on my neighbours hay feild but it's windy most of the time and anything over 200yds is a challenge.

I can consistently hit a 1 ft Dia metal target at 200yards. Not sure on the grouping but I figured just hitting it is good at that point :)

I usually shoot my 10/22 target at 50 yards, but I have gone out to 200 just for giggles. I managed to hit a 6" gong pretty consistently once I got the elevation figured out. I was using CCI SV. I had to try it after someone was bragging to me that they could hit the same 200 yard gong with their magnum hunting rifle.
