A member form the usa on here shoots to 500 yards with his cz scout.
I've shot my Remington 597 at 200 yards as well. We have a steel plate at our range about a foot in diameter and about the best I was able to achieve was 6 or 7 shots per 10 rounds on target. This is using CCI Blazer bulk stuff. I didn't adjust for the drop with the scope, just held higher. Overall I was impressed. I'm sure your Savage is more accurate.

I love the bigger calibers but for $30 and 500 rounds of fun you can't beat it!
