.22 Bolt Action scope advice.

My PAL just came in the mail today, and I'm planning on getting a bolt action .22 as my first gun this weekend. The problem is that I don't have a clue on what kind of scope to put on it. My knowledge on optics are next to none. I would like a scope that I can adjust for range, shoot out to about 150-200 yards, and costs $50-$200. I'm more interested in bang for my buck rather than just best scope for under $200. Thanks very much for any help.
 
I recently bought a Vortex Diamondback rimfire 2-7X35mm and I am quite pleased with it. Its a little bulky but is pretty darn decent scope picture.It was 200$

If you want to try shooting out to 150-200 yards 3-9 might be a better choice. Bushnell makes a 3-9X32mm rimfire which I have heard good things about. It would definitely fit in the 200$ budget.
 
You don't have to spend a lot of money on a scope for a .22. Check around and you might be surprised what you find. Vortex is good however look at the Bushnell line, great value.
 
I did some reading and the Prostaff Rimfire is blurry out to 25 yards. I'm learning a lot tonight. Thanks for all the help, I wrote down what you all posted and will check them out in the shop.
 
I got a Simmons 3-9x 30mm .22 mag scope for under 50$ with free shipping, its been a great scope 3 times out so far with 400 rounds of .22 mag through it and no problems, holding its zero well. amazing quality for the price. Ill pm you.
 
Take a look at the Tasco 2.5-10x42 varmint scope. they are priced very cheap and have had no problem with mine. They are around the 120.00 mark

Yep. x2. I have the same set-up, Simmons on my .22WMR and I am very pleased with it.
 
Bushnell is having a $50 rebate on the Elite series
starting in August.
Not valid on the 6500 Elite.
Should put you in nicely in your budget.
Don't know the new Elite series.
Remarkably clear and the multi X reticle is smaller,
at least to my eyes.
