Been checking out different bullet weights for reloading.
On hornby site there is only one listed for 223 the 45g hornet.
there is all kinds of different weights for 224 22cal.
222, 223, 224, 227 case and neck are different, width of bullet the same no.

You are looking at from about 30 grains, up to about 90 grains, maybe a bit more, off the top of my head.

The .223 inch offerings are supposed to be for loading older 22 Hornets, originally built on rimfire spec barrels.

The .224 diameter bullets are the standard for just about all the .22 centerfire rounds current and recent past. The weights that will shoot well will depend on the twist rate of your barrel. The broad rule of thumb is that the heavier bullet requires a faster twist to stabilize correctly. Heavier bullets are generally longer, and it's about the length. Do a Google search for "Greenhill formula rifling twist". Really light bullets=really slow twist. 1 turn in 20 (standard at one time for 22 short ammo) is really! slow), while 1 turn in 7 inches, is pretty fast, in a 22 caliber barrel.

The .227/.228 are for the 22 Savage High Power cartridge. Pretty sure there was at least one more that used the .227/.228 size as well, but cannot recall which.

Cheers

Many years ago there were quite a few wildcats using .228" bullets, as people felt they may be better on dear sized game then .22 cal. centerfire, and in some states the .22 cf. was illegal for dear but the .228" was okay. Ackley had a few .228 Wildcats as did Mashburn, for current .22cf cals. the best cast bullet dia. is .225" in my experience.

pretty sure that bullet is for the 22 hornet,
which is in fact .223 dia.,
and like other guy said,
if you are looking for bullets for the .223 Rem cal,
you require bullets that are .224 dia.
