.22 chamber iron

That was one of the first tools I made when I took my gunsmithing course... I think I used it once and decided it is an obsolete procedure.

I much prefer to use a .22 LR chamber reamer to remove the displaced material as the dent left will probably not get any deeper... I have never had any bad results with the reamer.
 
You can make your own with a Number 2 drill bit and a bit of filing and sanding.

Drift out as much as will go quickly, then ream to clean it up, and have the best of both methods.
