Hello. Very new to handguns. In fact, I don't own one yet, it is currently in transit from Canadaammo....I am too excited and I can barely sleep.
I would also like to get 22 coversion kit for it down the road. Can I get some recommendations that would fit the pistol I ordered?

Colt works fine on mine.

I heard the ejector on the Colt unit has to be modded to work on the Norc 1911's?

I tried my Colt .22 conversion unit on both my standard Norc 1911A1 frames & found it didn't want to go on. But it works on all pre Series 80 Colt frames I have tried it on. Worked best on a 1942 mfg Colt USGI frame but right now I am trying it on a Series 70 Gold Cup NM frame.

Mine is an NP29, maybe that makes a difference. Fit is excellent.

I'm going to try it for fit on my NP-29 & see how it works out. The other two Norc frames I tried it on were the .45ACP's. The Colt .22 conversion slide when assembled with the barrel, ejector, etc doesn't want to fit onto the Norc frame. I suspect it is the cutout in the forward dustcover of the frame is where it binds. But I will see if it does better on the NP-29..... cool, thanks.

Lots of success with my Kimber .22LR kit from TSE in Calgary. Even bought a bunch of spare magazines. Not a single hiccup on my Sproingfield Armory M1911 .45 ACP frame. Lots of super memories....

Slight side-track: is the conversion kit a firearm in itself?
Does it need to be registered?
Is it a gun part or a gun?
If I got one in the States could I legally import it?

I hope someone else wants to know too, but I'm not afraid to ask the dumb questions!

I ordered one from the states and it cleared customs without an issue. A slide and barrel is not an individual firearm and therefore will not need to be registered.
