.22 conversion kit for SIG 228 clone

It doesn't look like it is going to happen. I have the 228, 229 and NP-34, so this is an issue of interest to me as well.
I believe that, for awhile, Questar had the 229 conversion kits listed on their website, saying that their availability would be subject to whether they could get them with a long enough barrel (to avoid the barrel falling within the definition of "prohibited device"). They still have this kind of message up there for the 229 X-change kits (convert .22 to full calibre).
Now they just list 220 and 226 .22 kits on their site, and if Questar isn't going to bring them in, you can pretty much take it to the bank that no one else is going to bring them in.

They do have the 229 "Classic .22" complete guns, and they appear to have not sold very well, as they still have quite a few. Inability to use the "X-change" feature and some questionable reports on reliability seem to have affected the desirability of these. I was going to buy one myself, but backed off of that when the reviews started coming in.

The other issue for you is, with the 229 kits, I have not heard of people having a lot of success putting the 226 .22LR kits on their Norc 226's. Some people may have gotten it to work, I don't know, but definately some people have bought the kits and had to sell them because they simply didn't work with their Norc.
I would look elsewhere for a .22.

Thanks for the reply. That was kinda what I thought but figured that I'd ask just in case there was something else out there that might work.
I currently have a SIG Mosquito but it's just not what I'm looking for. It's a great gun, very accurate and never gives me any problems other than faulty ammo; but all it likes to eat is Thunderbolts and they're not cheap. (well, compared to 9mm they are, but not compared to other .22 brands that are available)
So yeah, I guess I need to figure out what .22 pistol to get. I kinda like the look of the S&W 22A and the Buckmark Contour doesn't look too bad either. Anyone know of any online dealers in Canada who carry these?
Sure would be nice if Norinco would start producing a different .22 pistol. I had an M-93 and loved it save for the non-conforming slide and mag releases. (left side slide release and heel mag release) Oh well, maybe someday.
