I’ve been watching a few videos on the newest Creedmoor. It’s an impressive little cartridge and would make a pretty good deer gun where allowed. Just wondering if anyone has one. I’ve yet to see any brass available.

I had one built in 2019, a Tikka T3x 243 that was rebarreled with an IBI 26" medium hunter 1:7

Shoots very well, just keep the carbon out of the bore or else it gets a little spicy

I have Hornady, Alpha, Peterson and ADG brass.

As good as the round is, I think the 6mm Creed is about the same thing and you can get good ammo, like the 80gr V-Match which is almost identical in performance to the 22cm. And the 22GT might be a bit more sensible in the 22caliber world, less powder and won't build up carbon as quick as the 22cm

Case size is only 13% more, maybe it has something to do with the long bearing surface of the 22cm shooting 75gr+ bullets. I just make an effort to remove the carbon out of the bore every 30-40 rounds and things are smooth sailing

It's definitely not new. Lots of brass available as well from Alpha and Peterson. I'm approaching 1000 rounds on mine with 88 grain ELD. It's a laser to 1000 and a joy to shoot. I'll probably get another barrel when this one dies...which I assume will be soon

Newest ;)

That must be such an easy, flat shooter with the 88 considering the recoil, return on investment etc!

Wonder how long the tube will last

I thought about doing one up a couple years back but wanted something with a bit more barrel life, so I decided to do a 22BR instead. Very happy that I did.

What’s your 22CM rifle build and what’s your barrel like for Carbon Fouling ? RJ

I had one, also had a 22-250 AI at the same time. Both 26" 1:8 twist barrels.

Still have the 22-250 AI. The creed didn't do it for me. Was finicky to load for, at the time hard to get decent brass although now Alpha and Peterson came out with some now. I was necking down Lapua 6 creed brass.
Ill stick with my tried n true 22-250 AI. No matter what I feed it (fire forming, factory or my reloads) it drills a ragged hole. I run a 85.5gr Berger at 3200fps with H1000 and its a heckin good time. Plus I can walk into Canadian Tire and buy factory ammo and go plink gophers with it all afternoon and not have to worry about spending 3 hours loading shells before a guy goes out.

Im not knocking the 22 creed, just in my experience it wasn't what I had expected.

But the 22-284 win....let me tell ya, something about the 85.5gr Bergers going 3575 fps puts the 22 creed and the 250 AI to shame....

It's a PVA 24" 1:7 twist on a bighorn origin. Haven't had any issues with it in regards to carbon build up. I won't lie, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning my barrels. It has been an easy experience so far with the 22 creed, knock on wood

I was almost at 600 rounds before problems carbon ring showed. I had been using a carbon solvent every 80-100 rounds fired, but likely not doing it as often as I should

Round count on my barrel now is 725, it's still shooting well

I've been able to avoid problems by using Seafoam Deep Creep wet patches, and spraying down a bronze brush with it and running it through the barrel a few times, then wet patching again - followed by dry patches. Point of impact shifts are minimal, which is nice

22 Creedmoor has been my goto everything for a number of years. We have put it into various platforms and it just works well. Lovely performance way the heck out there.

I only run very heavy for cal bullets at near starting loads. Still gets up and goes with great LR performance vs bigger cal magnums. Bore life has also been really good, at the lower operating pressures and would be much better then larger magnums. Fraction of the cost too.

Very low recoil, easy to tune and now, parts and brass are off the shelf.

I have formed brass from 6.5, 6mm creedmoor and 22-250... now use Peterson headstamp brass.

It will be part of the 3 chambers I keep till I am in the dirt (22 CM, 223Rem, 22LR... got others but these 3 I will keep always)
