.22 Federal Gold Medal.

Scored 2 boxes from an old buddy today. Claims it very accurate stuff. Looks to be about 20 years old. Anybody know about it. I'll be trying it soon in my Heavy Barrel Savage.

It's decent ammo, no worries.

I tried some out a couple years ago. My 22's (European) didn't like it but they don't seem to like any American ammo. I've talked to several people who say it's great in their rifles (Savages and old Remingtons).
I picked up a brick of Gold Medal HV Match this week and it's mediocre at best. Of course I guess that's par for the course with HV ammo. Couldn't get it under 1.25" at 50yds in rifles that have shot 0.25" with Eley/RWS/Norma.
